Plans
for a Sector Skills Council (SSC) in the automotive sector have been given the
go-ahead to move to the development stage.
The
decision, announced by the government-appointed regulatory body, the Sector
Skills Development Agency, means employers are a step closer to establishing a
specific Automotive Skills Council to meet the skills, workforce development
and business needs of the motor retail industry.
The
announcement means the number of councils under development is now at seven,
bringing the total number of developing and trailblazer SSCs to 12.
