A conference on the Government’s two new employee share schemes was held in central London today.
Speakers included Treasury minister Stephen Timms, Inland Revenue Share scheme specialists and senior members of the Employee Share Ownership Centre.
Ministers expect two million employees to participate in the All-Employee Share Ownership Plan (AESOP), which is the first employee share plan approved by the Inland Revenue to allow the award of free shares to employees on the basis of their performance.
In the separate Enterprise Management Incentives (EMI) share options scheme, smaller companies will be able to provide incentives to key employees.
