Home Office reviews police recruitment procedures

The
Home Office has announced an overhaul of the recruitment process for the police
service, which will standardise the process across the country.

For
the first time, potential recruits will be able to use a standard application
form for all 43 forces across England and Wales.

The
police will also have a single recruitment website, which will enable
candidates to apply online and complete a questionnaire to see if they are
eligible to join the force.

Candidates
will also be allowed to apply for up to three forces simultaneously, regardless
of where they live.
