Personneltoday.com has reported a 12% increase in the number of HR job adverts being placed on its site, despite the economic downturn.

Part of Reed Business Information, the business-to-business publisher, the HR jobs vacancy site has registered a record month of traffic.

Other sites at the publisher, including New Scientist Jobs and aerospace site Flightglobal Jobs, have also proved successful. Jobs have increased by 18% over the past 12 months and during this time job applications have climbed by 40%.

Figures out this week show that PersonnelToday Jobs has 1,770 jobs posted on its site, compared with rival People Management, which has just 444.

Paul Cook, web publishing director, said that now is a good time to be recruiting. “Matching candidates with their ideal job remains our top priority. Despite the economic slowdown this is a great time to recruit. Now more than ever our clients have to justify every penny of their recruitment spend, but also want employer branding opportunities to attract the best candidates.”

Job applications have grown across all RBI UK’s recruitment websites, although the biggest growth is across titles such as New Scientist Jobs, which now receives an average of six applications per job. PersonnelToday Jobs and Flightglobal Jobs now receive an average of eight applications per job.
