The
Health and safety Executive (HSE) has issued a new syllabus for its Safety
Passport scheme.
Safety
Passports have been developed and used in several industry sectors, including
construction, to help workers gain minimum levels of knowledge on how to operate
safely.
It
also lets employers know the workers are aware of their environmental
responsibilities before being allowed in the workplace.
Employees
receive the passports by attending training courses that raise awareness of the
risks presented in the relevant working environment.
Timothy
Walker, HSE director general, said the scheme helped companies to promote a
positive health and safety culture.
