The
Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has published new guidelines for staff
working in the forestry and arboriculture industries.
As
part of the initiative, the HSE has produced 34 free leaflets including a
safety checklist for employers, supervisors and the self-employed.
The
guidance has been devised jointly by the HSE and the Arboriculture and Forestry
Advisory Group (AFAG) and replaces earlier advice by the now defunct Forestry
and Arboriculture Safety and Training Council.
Copies
of the safety guidance are available from the HSE free of charge.
