IIP achievement underlines Milton Bayer’s staff commitment

by Personnel Today 15 Apr 2009
by Personnel Today 15 Apr 2009

Northampton-based strategic and creative marketing agency Milton Bayer is the first firm of its kind in the county and one of an elite few in the region to have been awarded the Investors in People (IIP) standard.

Ray Wellington, managing director at Milton Bayer, sees it as a culmination of two years investment in employee processes and relationships and the start of ambitious growth plans.

“IIP is a very challenging standard to meet and is increasingly seen as a measure of a quality employer. We are thrilled to be the only creative agency in Northamptonshire to achieve it and see it as a real draw for staff to join us from not only within the county but also from outside regions like Beds, Bucks, Leicestershire and Warwickshire,” says Ray.

“Two years ago we restructured completely, including making major changes at board level. We’ve fully embraced the principles of the IIP standard and as a result have effectively all but eliminated staff turnover, which had been an issue for us in the past. We now have created not only a fantastic working environment and ethos, but a genuine culture which delivers increased value to our customers,” says Ray.

He went on to pay tribute to his fellow director James Chisholm in achieving the IIP standard and acknowledged the effort and commitment of all staff in getting behind it.

So far, in 2009 Milton Bayer has had six major client wins including AVIS and Trafficmaster.
