Most
professionals would turn down job offers from organisations they consider to be
unethical, according to a report published this week by the Industrial Society.
The
report, entitled Corporate Nirvana – is the future socially responsible?,
reveals that 82 per cent of UK professionals would not work in an organisation
whose values they do not believe in.
More
than half (59 per cent) of the 255 respondents said they chose the company they
work for because they believe in its values and almost all (99 per cent) said
they care if the organisation acts responsibly.
"Corporate
social responsibility is a route to good, multi-skilled employees," said Industrial
Society corporate responsibility expert Stephanie Draper.
