Morrisons will create 20,000 new jobs over the next three years, Personnel Today has learned.
Norman Pickavance, group HR director, told the magazine the jobs would be created as Morrison’s looks to open up to 60 new stores across the country in the same time period.
The news comes as the retailer announced its annual results today, which showed a 30% rise in full-year pre-tax profits to £858m as turnover rose by 6% to £15.4bn.
Morrisons opened 45 new stores over the past year.

Earlier in the week, Pickavance told Personnel Today that Morrisons’ HR function would be sending out brochures to schools later in the year detailing career opportunities at the company and would also launch a trainee programme to fast track people into the current management training programme.
Morrisons will also launch a new senior leadership programme in the next two weeks following work with leadership guru Steve Tappin, and a coaching programme within the next two months.
