Postal staff have today called a 24-hour unofficial strike at
the Nine Elms depot in London over alleged poor working practices.
The action was announced only hours before a critical report
on industrial relations in the industry was released.
The strike has been called concerning ongoing disagreement
over the workers’ Code of Conduct.
Similar disputes led to a number of unofficial disputes
across the country in May.

Consignia has condemned the strike as “unnecessary and
unhelpful”, and indicated that it would seriously disrupt mail deliveries to
many parts of the city tomorrow.
