Public
sector workers are to only get pay rises in line with inflation this year,
press reports claim.
The
Times said that hundreds of thousands of public sector staff – including
teachers and army personnel – will this week learn they will receive annual pay
increases of around 3 per cent.
Around
440,000 teachers will get a rise of just under 3 per cent, while Armed Forces
staff will get just over 3 per cent. Inflation stands at 2.9 per cent.

Senior
civil servants and judges will also see their salaries rise by around 3 per
cent, claimed The Times.
