Rail
union Aslef has warned of a national strike unless pay rates can be agreed with
35 employers.
Aslef,
which represents 14,000 drivers, wants three national rates of pay for
inter-city, regional line and freight drivers.
Reports
in The Times newspaper claim the union has given employers until May to agree
to the first national deal since privatisation.
