Thousands of commuters had to stay at home today after storms lashed the south of England.
South West Trains announced they had cancelled all services on Monday morning, leaving employees stranded at home.
Motorists were forced to queue or turn back after floods and an overturned lorry blocked both carriageways of the M25.
Railtrack did not provide any notice of when the cancelled rail services would be back in operation as many employees opted to telework.
The CBI launched an investigation into the extent of the chaos, but it was itself limited by the number of staff available to work.
Weather experts predict the storms could return again on Thursday.
