Stress is a time bomb waiting to explode in UK businesses, claimed the chairman of the Independent Counselling and Advisory Services (ICAS).
Psychologist Dr Michael Reddy was responding to the last week’s survey of 200 senior managers by e-business group Energis that revealed that more than 25 per cent of respondents suffered daily stress attacks.
“Over-stress is a time-bomb ticking away in the basement of UK organisations. Either we change the culture that gives employees and bosses the longest working hours in Europe, or Britain will break down,” Reddy said.
“Stress can kill long-term, after it has stolen your quality of life.”
