Public
sector workers in inner London should be paid £4,200 a year weighting,
according to a new study.
The
report, from Warwick University, said the fee would help solve growing
recruitment and retention problems.
The
Warwick researchers found that £4,200 was the minimum sum needed to make public
sector employees’ pay comparable with private sector salaries.

Trade
union Unison welcomed the report, and said it proved that current London
Weighting rates were inadequate and failed to resolve recruitment and retention
issues in the capital.
