The Conservatives will 'repatriate' employment legislation from Europe should they win the next general election, David Cameron has said.

In a speech yesterday the Tory leader said he would seek to negotiate the return of powers over employment legislation to the UK and would introduce a sovereignty bill to ensure that ultimate authority on issues of law stayed with the UK parliament.

He said: "I believe these things can stop Britain's relationship with the EU from heading in the wrong direction."

But Cameron insisted the Conservatives would not rush into a "massive Euro-bust-up", the Daily Telegraph reported.
