Stephen Haddrill, director-general of the Association of British Insurers, has been appointed vice-president and chair of the board at the Institute for Employment Studies (IES).
Haddrill will play a key role in driving the IES mission of improving HR and employment practices in the UK.
He said: “The research work of IES is vital to our understanding of change in the labour market as a whole and within companies.
“Making use of this expertise, both to inform policy-making and within our organisations, is a crucial component of getting the best from the UK workforce and improving productivity.”
Previously Haddrill was director of employment relations and the Competitiveness Unit at what was the Department of Trade and Industry.
