Line manager research available for tracking
A researcher at Goldsmiths University in London has been studying the role of the line manager in the return-to-work process. Ben Hicks recently ran a series of workshops for OH professionals and is now writing up his findings. ‘Director of quality’ wanted by NHS Plus
NHS Plus is recruiting a new “director of quality” to replace director of clinical standards Dr Ira Madan, who is leaving the organisation this month. The role will be 18 hours a week on a secondment or fixed-term contract, initially until the end of September and then potentially until March 2012. Norwich Union launches stress awareness course
Health insurer Norwich Union Risk Services has launched a one-day course for employers on how to spot the signs of stress in the workplace and manage it effectively. £1.3m boost for study into ageing workforce
Professor Cheryl Haslam, director of Loughborough University’s Work and Health Research Centre, has been awarded £1.3m to carry out research into how employment policies, workplace design and occupational health provision need to take account of the ageing workforce. The research is being carried out in partnership with the Institute of Occupational Medicine.
