JSB Associates opens two new international offices

by Personnel Today 26 Nov 2008
by Personnel Today 26 Nov 2008

International executive search consultants JBS Associates announced today the opening of two new offices, one in Sao Paulo, Brazil and the other in the Pudong district of Shanghai, China.

The new offices are part of a strategic development plan for JBS Associates which has positioned itself as a leading specialist in executive recruitment for emerging markets.

Says managing director, Jonathan Stokes: “We are delighted to be meeting our own tough development targets so quickly.  Despite current global market fluctuations, economies in emerging regions like Russia, Brazil and China are still predicting growth against the reality of recession in Western markets.  As a result, demand for our services continues to grow.”

JBS Associates started with one London office in 2001 and is currently ahead of target to double consultants, turnover and profit in 2008 for the fifth consecutive year, adding the new offices to its existing bases in London, Dubai, Moscow and Zurich.

Says Stokes: “Our positioning as worldwide specialists in sourcing high calibre leaders for developing economies has only been possible by pursuing a policy of opening global offices, in order to ensure we properly understand local labour forces and commercial dynamics.”

The Sao Paulo office has a further function in that it will serve as a useful contact point for JBS Associate’s headline sponsorship of a British world-first expedition to walk the entire 4000 mile length of the Amazon River.

The Walking The Amazon expedition, which aims to highlight the impact of climate change, has now reached the River Tambu on the eastern slopes of the Andes in Peru and will finish at the mouth of the Amazon in Brazil near the end of 2009.
