Employment Law expert returns after 27 years

by Personnel Today 2 Jun 2009
by Personnel Today 2 Jun 2009

Employment expert Michael Ord has joined one of the region’s top practices to bring further expertise to an expanding team.

Michael, who articled at Crutes back in 1982, joins Crutes’ growing business services department as a partner. He has over 25 years experience in employment related issues with particular expertise in restructurings/redundancies, claims relating to discrimination, and complex and senior terminations. Michael, joins us from international law firm Eversheds where he was a partner for 20 years.

Michael said: “Crutes has an excellent reputation and I am looking forward to this new challenge of helping develop the firm’s employment unit and business services department.

Head of Business Services, Paul Bell, said: “We are delighted to welcome someone of Michael’s calibre to what is already a very strong team. With this and other recent key appointments, our plan is to expand our business in key areas – such as employment, commercial property and corporate and commercial law. The potential is there – particularly for a firm that can offer good value, high quality pragmatic legal advice to SMEs and owner managed businesses.

“Michael’s skills, experience and business contacts will be of great benefit to our clients – and to the future growth plans of the department.”
