Heart attack victims are getting faster treatment
More people in England who have a heart attack (64%) are receiving clot-busting treatment within 60 minutes of calling for help than last year (58%), the sixth public report from the Myocardial Infarction National Audit Project has shown.


Code of practice aims to support dyslexic staff
A new code of practice to help employers support dyslexic staff is being launched by the British Dyslexia Association this month. It will give employers advice on supporting workers with dyslexia, as well as guidance on policies and procedures relating to the Disability Discrimination Act.

Drinking charity backs alcohol tax hike plans
The charity Alcohol Concern has welcomed proposals from the Conservative-led Social Justice Policy Group that taxes on alcohol should be raised to help fund alcohol treatment services. Srabani Sen, chief executive, said raising prices through taxation would make it harder for vulnerable groups, including young people, to buy too much alcohol.


Farmers are unhappiest
Farmers are unhappiest Farmers are the unhappiest of all self-employed workers, a study in the journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine has concluded. Finnish researchers using a random sample of 5,000 adults found farmers in particular need more social and emotional support.
