The head of HR at the BBC is to leave the corporation in the spring to take up a new global role at information services giant Reuters.
Stephen Dando joined the BBC as director of HR and internal communications in 2001, becoming director of BBC People in 2004 to reflect the new name of the division.
He has overseen massive organisational change at the BBC, including controversial plans to make nearly 4,000 redundancies and the sale of the corporation’s technology division.
Dando is also leading negotiations with services firms Accenture, xChanging and Capita for a deal to outsource of some of the BBC’s HR services. He is expected to complete this deal before joining Reuters.

Dando joins as group HR director. He has previously worked at a number of other large organisations, including Guinness, UDV Europe and Diageo.
