The
Engineering Employers’ Federation is rebranding itself and changing its name to
the "EEF, the manufacturers organisation."
This
rebranding is meant to better reflect the changing nature of the EEF’s
membership and its increasing involvement in issues affecting the UK’s
productivity performance. The organisation hopes to cement its role of
providing the sector with a powerful voice.
Commenting
on the move, EEF director of external affairs, Ian Peters, said: "UK
manufacturing too often gets a bad press with reports of plant closures and job
losses. While there are difficulties, there is also a very positive story to
tell, of innovation, of technological advances, export success, new enterprises
and new job creation.
