Finance authority to consider using e-mail privacy software

The
Financial Services Authority (FSA) is to consider the use of new software that
allows its users to stop certain people reading or forwarding e-mails they have
sent.

The
‘For Your Eyes Only’ function on Microsoft Office 2003 also allows users to
‘time stamp’ e-mails, maiking them unreadable after a certain date.

Microsoft
claims the software does not delete e-mails from hard-drives, meaning they
could still be read by system administrators.

BP,
the first global corporation to buy Office 2003, has already said its 115,000
employees will not be given access to the service.
