An
ambulance driver charged with speeding while delivering an organ for transplant
has had charges against him dropped.
Mike
Ferguson was charged with speeding earlier this year, after he was caught
travelling at 104mph while delivering a liver to a hospital in Cambridge.

Ferguson
had faced losing his job if convicted, but the Crown Prosecution Service has
now decided that a prosecution would not be in the public interest.
The
GMB union welcomed the news after delivering a 20,000 signature petition to
Downing Street earlier in the week.
