British
Airways’ (BA) pay deal negotiations have broken down after the airline’s
engineers voted against accepting a new pay offer.
Seventy
per cent of BA Amicus members voted against accepting a deal that included a 3
per cent pay rise and acceptance of the controversial new swipe cards.
Other
BA employees are to be balloted about the offer over the coming weeks.

In
July, the introduction of swipe cards sparked a wild cat walkout by check-in
staff, stranding thousands of passengers at Heathrow and costing BA about £30m.
