UK
firms interested in developing trade and business links in Iraq are to visit
the country as part of a private delegation this month.
The
Risk Advisory Group (TRAG), which is organising the visit, has had specialist
teams operating in Iraq since the end of the war to establish support networks
for businesses, assess the security situation and develop routes to Baghdad and
Basra.
David
Claridge, head of TRAG’s physical security operations, said the company had
taken the initiative because the first government-sponsored trade delegation is
unlikely to happen for weeks or months. There will be up to six firms on each
visit.
