Nursery
nurses across Scotland have been involved in strike action this week as part of
their ongoing campaign for job re-grading.
Local
nurseries and nursery schools have been closed and the service disrupted.
The
action began on Tuesday when 13 branches in West Scotland were on strike and a
Glasgow rally attracted 1,500 people.
All
4,500 Unison members in the sector were out on Wednesday as nursery nurses from
East and North Scotland and Edinburgh joined their colleagues. And nine
branches remained on strike on Thursday.

The
union is campaigning for pay to be equalised for nursery nurses across Scotland
and a standard hourly rate to be applied. They are also resisting attempts for
nursery nurses working in schools to be forced onto term-time only pay.
