Engineering
companies can enhance their competitive advantage by offering rewarding
salaries, a new study has found.
The
Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF) annual pay survey of management and
professional engineers’ pay shows that salary remains the main factor in
attracting and retaining key staff.
The
survey analysed the pay and benefits of senior, middle and junior managers and
professional engineers in the engineering and manufacturing industries.
The
EEF’s Matthew Huggett said: "Consistent evidence shows that competitive
salaries are the best way for engineering and manufacturing companies to
attract and retain key staff."
The
survey covered almost 900 companies who employ some 26,000 managers and
professional engineers around the UK.
