Tom Hampton has recently joined Baxi Potterton, the boiler company, as HR
manager. In the role, Hampton will have operational responsibility for the
firm’s 1,600 employees. The staff are split between the manufacturing sites at
Burnley and Preston, and the service operational headquarters based in Warwick.
Cara Davani has joined the London Borough of Tower Hamlets as head of HR.
Davani moves from Suffolk College, where she was HR director. Prior to this,
she held HR roles within local authorities in Essex and Suffolk. Tower Hamlets
has not had a permanent head of HR for some time, so initially, she will be
looking at the HR structure across the whole council. Her first priorities will
include taking a lead on HR strategy and driving forward council-wide
initiatives, IIP and change management.
MindShare UK, the media planning and buying agency, has recruited Jennifer
Healey as HR adviser. She has a background in advertising and marketing and
will be responsible for all aspects of employee relations at the firm, which is
part of the WPP group.

The Edrington Group, makers of The Famous Grouse, has appointed Lorna
McDougall as group HR manager. She has joined the independent Scotch whisky
group from Boots, where she was HR manager for Scotland. Based in Perth, she
will have special responsibility for the commercial side of the business.
The Employers Forum on Age (EFA) has appointed Rachel Krys to the
newly-created position of marketing and communications manager. Krys is
responsible for developing the EFA’s communications tools and its links with
members, stakeholders and the media. It is also to raise awareness about the
challenges that employers face in preparing for the 2006 age legislation, while
supporting the EFA’s relationship with its 160 members.
