The fixed-term workers directive comes into force today in
the form of the Fixed-Term Employees (Prevention of Less Favourable Treatment)
Regulations 2002. Broadly, the regulations guarantee equal or pro-rata
conditions of employment for fixed-term employees to a comparable permanent
