New National Minimum Wage rates come into force today (1st
October 2002).
● The Full NMW rate (workers aged 22 and over, who
qualify for the NMW and who are not "accredited trainees") rises from
£4.10 per hour to £4.20 per hour

● The development rate (workers aged 18 and over but
under 22) rises from £3.50 to £3.60 per hour.
● Workers aged 22 or over in the first six months of their
job and who are receiving accredited training for at least 26 days are also
entitled to the development rate of £3.60.
