The
most conflict between employers and employees is over acceptable performance
levels, according to a survey.
Nearly
half of respondents to The Management Agenda 2001, published by Roffey Park
said work creates a conflict outside the organisation. The same percentage, 48
per cent, said it creates conflict with their family and 13 per cent cited
conflict with friends.
37
per cent said that what acceptable performance looks like is the main area of
conflict at work. Only a percentage point behind is what the organisation is
demanding of them and what they are prepared to give.

But
nearly a third – 30 per cent – said there is no conflict. Change at work was
cited as a reason for conflict, with more than one in five claiming that change
provides conflict at work. www.roffeypark.com
