The Law Society’s former president and former chief
executive have been found guilty of race and sex discrimination against its
former vice president Kamlesh Bahl.
Ms Bahl was in line to become president of the solicitors’
professional body in July last year when five staff made allegations of
bullying against her.
The tribunal found that Robert Sayer, then president of the
society and the former chief executive, Jane Betts, were guilty of race and sex
discrimination in the way that they handled the complaints.

The amount of compensation Ms Bahl will receive is likely to
be decided by the Watford tribunal where the case was heard in the autumn.
