British Airways and unions in talks to avert strikes

British Airways and unions resumed talks yesterday aimed at preventing further strikes by cabin crew in a the row over pay and jobs.

Unite union said it would not call further industrial action while the talks made progress, but warned that there was still more work to be done with discussions set for the next few days, according to Reuters.

The flagship airline said it lost up to £45m as a result of last month’s industrial action, carrying nearly 400,000 fewer passengers.

Unite had previously warned it would stage more stoppages unless the two sides can come to an agreement.
