Poll shows landslide support for Labour

The Labour party still has a huge lead over the
Conservatives despite doubts over the Government’s handling of the foot and
mouth crisis according to an opinion poll carried out by Mori.

The poll reveals that 50 per cent of people surveyed would
vote Labour, compared to 31 per cent for the Tories and just 14 per cent for
the Liberal Democrat party.

In urban areas the support for Labour was even more
pronounced at 55 per cent to just 28 per cent for the Conservative Party.

The gap was closer in rural areas where 40 per cent of
respondents to the survey, commissioned by The Times, would support Labour
against 33 per cent who would vote Tory.
