Toyota is to create 250 jobs to cope with increased engine production
at its plant in Deeside in north Wales.
Employment at the factory will increase from 350 to 600 in
response to plans to double its output to produce 400,000 engine units a year
by 2003.
Toshio Mizushima, said, “These positive strategic changes
will further strengthen Toyota’s activities throughout Europe and are the next
stage of Toyota Manufacturing UK’s survival plan.
“Our plans will ensure that we have greater flexibility in
our manufacturing operations in Europe.”
