Directors working for Techmark companies generally receive lower basic salaries than their counterparts in more traditional industries, research has revealed.
A survey by London-based New Bridge Street Consultants looked at how much executive directors employed by companies in the Techmark sector are paid.
Techmark companies are innovative and technologically advanced firms, which sit within the traditional FTSE Index.
The survey’s findings also showed that, although Techmark directors receive lower salaries than their colleagues in other sectors, they could potentially earn more through annual bonus and share options.
New Bridge Street Consultants concluded that the fall in value of Techmark shares and the consequent impact on share options are likely to lead to pressure to close the salary gap with traditional companies.
