Insurance firm Aegon nabs Scottish Power’s personnel chief Sandy Begbie to take over as UK human resources director

The UK arm of life insurance giant Aegon has appointed Scottish Power personnel chief Sandy Begbie as human resources director.

Begbie delivered a three-year people strategy as HR director at Scottish Power, after five years heading other personnel teams at the energy company.

At Aegon, he will be responsible for developing and delivering HR strategy as the group tries to build its UK market share.

Aegon UK chief executive Otto Thoresen said: “[Begbie] is recognised as a leader in his field, and his experience of managing change and of talent management will be particularly valuable to Aegon in the months and years ahead.”
