One
in 10 paid staff in England work with children, according to a new report from
the Employers’ Organisation for Local Government.
The
survey finds that more than four million people in England work with children,
or support those working with children, out of a civilian workforce of 25
million. This includes around 2.4 million paid staff and 1.8 million unpaid
staff and volunteers.
The
report, People Working with Children, comes at a time when Children’s Services
are being brought together under the Department for Education and Science
(DfES).

full report is available from the Employers Organisation for Local Government
