Army reservists could be called up next week

Britain
could begin to call up army reservists for military action against Iraq within
the next 10 days, according to reports in today’s national press.

According
to the reports, around 1,000 reserve troops will receive their papers by the
end of the month.

Ministers
have been forced to act early because employers must be given two months notice
to arrange cover for staff.
