BBC staff to sign own expense forms

BBC
staff are to be allowed to sign their own expenses in a bid to cut red tape and
raise morale.

Staff
can authorise weekly expenses that are less than £100, via e-mail, under
changes to be introduced later this year.

Alison
Woodhams, BBC group financial controller, said: "It [the expense system
changes] is about empowering and trusting staff and making this a better place
to work."

BBC warn staff in their internal magazine Ariel that the expense system will be
monitored so it is not abused.
