Big climbers in graduates’ employers of choice chart

According to the Universum Graduate Survey 2000, SmithKline Beecham has moved up 22 places from 43rd to 21st place. News Corporation has seen a similar rise in popularity, moving from 40th place in 1999 to 20th this year.

Others seeing significant improvements in their positions in last year’s rankings include Nokia, rising 16 places to 22nd, Glaxo Wellcome, which has gone up 12 places and BT, up 14 places.

The survey found that the top five ideal employers among graduates this year are the BBC, Virgin Group, BA, the Foreign Office and Andersen Consulting.
