E-learning Centre
This gem of a resource for any trainer on the subject of e-learning has
evolved into eCLIPSE, which stands for e-Learning Intelligence Service, and
while the content is still free, you do have to register and be awarded a user
name and password – this takes only a few minutes, though. eCLIPSE’s real value
lies in the mass of links to relevant sites and resources – store this as
bookmark and you’ve effectively secured a shoal of other useful web addresses,
too. It also offers up-to-date information on trends, latest tools and
technologies, a monthly newsletter, examples of good practice and case studies,
as well as live online help and a discussion forum. The site was launched in
January last year by former IT trainer Jane Knight, who has 20 years’
experience of technology-based and online learning. She set up the first
Web-based undergraduate course, IT for information analysis and presentation,
as long ago as 1995, so she can clearly teach most of us a thing or two on the
subject of e-learning.
