B&Q, BT and NHS among top family-friendly employers

B&Q, BT, and the NHS are among the top employers for working families it has emerged.

The firms were among 20 to make it onto an inaugural list of the best family-friendly employers from the past three decades.

Work-life balance charity Working Families compiled the list as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations.

Winners had shown leadership in areas including flexible working, childcare provision, maternity and/or paternity policy and help with eldercare responsibilities, the charity said.§

Accenture, the Metropolitan Police Service and Lloyds TSB also made it onto the final list.

B&Q was also recently praised by equality campaigner Opportunity Now for continuing to invest in diversity, despite the downturn.
