A British Airways (BA) worker is being questioned on suspicion of terrorist fundraising.
The suspect was arrested at the firm’s offices in Newcastle by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit, the BBC has reported.
BA said it took security “extremely seriously” but would not comment further during the investigation, the BBC reports.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “On 25 February, a 30-year-old man was arrested at a business address in Newcastle-upon-Tyne on suspicion of terrorist fundraising.
“He remains in custody at a central London police station. Searches of the business premises, and residential premises in the Newcastle-upon-Tyne area, are complete.”
