BT rings the changes with senior management pay freeze

Senior
management at BT have frozen their basic pay for the third year running to set
an example to their employees.

Chief
executive Ben Verwaayen will earn £700,00 basic, with finance director Ian
Livingstone and head of BT Retail, Pierre Danon, on £450,000 each.

Verwaayen
pledged in March to lead by example by forcing a pay freeze on BT’s 75,000
non-managerial workers.

However,
all BT executives have earned big bonuses, with Verwaayen’s total package
amounting to £2.4m.
