Budgens sends its management trainees back to school

Supermarket
retailer Budgens is sending all of its management trainees into schools to help
them build people and communication skills.

The
group has added a creative element to its Retail Management Training programme,
designed to increase the skill set of its fast-track candidates.

Staff
on the latest course have built a sensory garden and creative play area for
pupils at a Derbyshire school and founded strong links with the local
community.

Julianne
Osborne, HR manager at the firm, said the initiative has given trainees the
opportunity to get out of the stores and develop leadership, teamwork and
creative skills.
