The
Government should provide sufficient funding for all adults to receive
publicly-funded education up to GCSE level, according to a joint Budget
submission by the CBI and TUC.
It is the
first time they have published a joint submission, and is in response to a
request from Chancellor Gordon Brown.

They also
call for the Government to provide incentives for companies to achieve the
Investors in People standard.
Recommendations
include extending tax credit for research, making more firms eligible for
discounts on energy tax, and improving the funding of regional development.
