Chemicals giant Univar appoints new HR director for Europe

Chemical distribution giant Univar has appointed Detlef Prangenberg as HR director for Europe.

Prangenberg, a former General Electric Healthcare HR professional, will join Univar on 1 March 2009.

He has also served for 12 years as an officer in the German Armed Forces dealing with HR issues, and most recently was HR director for Swiss firm DSM Composite Resins.

Prangenberg will be responsible for HR talent management and development throughout Europe and will report to John Van Osch, group senior vice president for Univar Europe.

Univar has 250,000 customers, and 7,700 employees throughout North America, Europe and China. The company’s headquarters are in Rotterdam, and it has major offices in Bradford, Yorkshire.
